Our Executive Team
Adam Kotter – President / CEO / Co-Founder
Since founding The Kotter Group in 1996, Adam has worked to empower insurance agents through technology, helping them build relationships and maximize the benefits of cloud computing. Adam believes that technology solutions should be easy to use, a concept that appeals to the over 10,000 agents who use The Kotter Group’s services each day.
Adam is a serial entrepreneur who knows well the struggles of starting and operating businesses of different sizes. A former insurance agency owner, he has owned restaurants and a variety of other businesses, mostly in the cloud computing and storage areas.
Among his many certifications, Adam is a Certified Ethical Hacker, having demonstrated mastery of advanced methodologies for penetration testing and information security. He earned one of the highest scores ever for the world’s most advanced ethical hacking exam (EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker exam 312-50). He is a strong proponent for continual education.
Adam is a sought-after public speaker who enjoys teaching and helping others be successful. He is fluent in Spanish and is a certified Dive Master. When not helping to empower agents through technology, he can be found scuba diving in the Caribbean with his wife and five children.
Lisa Kotter - Chief Financial Officer / Co-Founder
Lisa graduated summa cum laude from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Management and an emphasis in Organizational Behavior. Since co-founding The Kotter Group in 1996, she has been a strong advocate for relationships and continual innovation. She believes that implementing new and appropriate technology solutions is the best way to empower independent insurance agents to give them the competitive advantages they need.
Over the years, Lisa has honed her organizational skills into a series of best practice workflows that empowers business owners to do more with less. These talents have been particularly noticeable during the process of creating Bridge. Taking complicated technical processes and refining them down to a few easy clicks is her forte.
Lisa is a certified Dive Master who enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, five children, and two dogs. She is passionate about community service and especially enjoys mentoring young people. She is fluent in Spanish and hopes to one day learn Mandarin, French, and American Sign Language.
Charlie Griffin - Chief Sales Officer
You may recognize Charlie Griffin as co-owner of Bluewave VoIP, which merged with The Kotter Group in 2018. Charlie has spent the last 28 years in the technology and phone business and specializes in working with insurance agencies. Charlie has a BS in Marketing and an MBA in Finance from Auburn University.
Although an Alabama native, Charlie started his career in the marketing department at Duke Energy in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he discovered his passion for technology. Now, as part of the executive team at The Kotter Group, Charlie channels that passion into helping insurance agents harness the power of omni-channel communications.
When not at work, Charlie and his wife, Ramona, can be found taking their camper off to the woods to relax and enjoy nature.
Richard Branham - Chief of Software Development
Richard has spent over 21 years helping businesses of all sizes develop software. He has spent considerable time with voice and communication systems as well as with payment processing systems. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Columbus State University and has years and years of software-specific training.
As Director of Software Development, he feels personally responsible for building software systems that empower agents to grow their business and better serve their customers. Richard appreciates The Kotter Group’s emphasis on the importance of building relationships, whether they be with other team members, with clients, or with partners.
Richard lives by the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He enjoys spending time with his family, especially while camping and hiking.
Tom Hinson - Chief Marketing Officer
Tom brings more than two and a half decades of proven expertise in business strategy, marketing and customer-focused design to The Kotter Group. His ‘initial’ career in sales took an unexpected turn when a customer showed him a small Apple Macintosh computer and a piece of software called Adobe Illustrator. Gauntlet thrown; challenge accepted.
“Design and marketing were definitely a passion. Leaving a lucrative career in sales to ‘start over’ at $7 an hour as a typesetter in a small printing company wasn’t an easy choice,” Tom recalls. But following his passion was clearly the right choice as his ascension in the field over the years has demonstrated. That entry-level gamble quickly led to more advanced roles: graphic designer, department manager, senior designer, web design and development team lead, and vice president in marketing for a 1,000-employee company.
He says he’s been fortunate to work with and learn from many “seriously-amazing people” over the years. His impressive track record spans a variety of industries including banking, health care, retail and e-commerce, in companies ranging from ‘mom and pop’ businesses to the Fortune 500 world. He also has an entrepreneurial mindset, having started and operated a successful marketing agency for almost a decade.
Tom is also passionate about learning and experimenting with all types of software. Outside of work, he loves to spend time relaxing with his wife and kids. And, somehow, he never fully outgrew skateboarding. Somebody get this guy a helmet!
Our Management Team
Ben Welch - Director of Network Operations
Having been a part of small businesses for over 10 years, Ben has developed the ability to quickly analyze data and identify issues when they occur. As the Director of Network Operations, Ben is responsible for ensuring the stability of the infrastructure that supports The Kotter Group services. He also oversees data security, network access, and other critical systems. His goal is to provide a secure, seamless experience for every customer of The Kotter Group.
Ben brings incredible value to The Kotter Group and its clients by identifying potential technology pitfalls and planning ahead to avoid them. Through his many years of experience, Ben has learned to work smarter, not harder. His favorite part about working at The Kotter Group is the people.
When he’s away from the computer servers, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, playing board games, reading books, and avoiding any type of physical labor.
Chris Lejeune - Director of Customer Success & Experience
Having spent four years working in Information Technology in the United States Army infantry, Chris received valuable training that is useful not only in his current role as Director of Customer Success but also in life. Through his training and certifications in IT as well as in the Army, he has learned the art of self-discipline and knows how to work hard. Chris is well trained to lead and support the customer success team of The Kotter Group in providing the highest level of customer service. Chris understands that to expect extraordinary levels of service from his team, he has to lead by example, which he does.
Chris’ favorite part of working at The Kotter Group is the outstanding, hardworking, and friendly environment that he’s able to be a part of. In his free time he enjoys spending time playing video games with friends.
